I picked up a book about the Haskell programming language a few weeks ago. Its purely functional approach is different than most other popular languages, but it’s turning out to be a worthy investment of time. It teaches you a whole lot about functional patterns.
Learning something new is like traveling; you might feel a little uncomfortable traveling to a new place at first, but once you get to know an area, all of the sudden you get new perspectives.
So, make it a point to learn something new, possibly something that makes you slightly uncomfortable. It may open your mind to new perspectives.
