Fixing Unsoldered Pins on QuiteOn 3

QuiteOn Earbuds Pins, AA battery for scale

During one of my last travels my QuiteOn case must have took a hit while in the suitcase because one day it just stopped charging. Inspection revealed poor circuitry manufacturing which left 3 pins loose. The pins worked fine until a shock caused the connections to come loose. It’s unclear to me why the pins weren’t soldered in place, but I dusted off my soldering iron and made the connection.

The trick to get this precision type of soldering is to use flux, apply a bit of flux to the connections, place just a drop of solder on the tip of the soldering iron and quickly touch the connections. In my first attempt I ended shorting two connections, which I resolved using a desoldering pump to extract the excess solder by reapplying flux, reheating the connection and quickly activating the pump. Followed by visual inspection, multimeter testing and cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.
