Today I bricked this little drone by flashing the wrong firmware (whoops)!
Turns out that the correct board to choose when flashing a new firmware is “OMNIBUS“. Oh well, good opportunity to learn how to take this thing apart.
- Unplug the camera plug from the side by gently pulling the cable out. Optionally also remove the props (I didn’t) to have more maneuvering space later on.
2. Set the drone on its back, and remove the 8 screws circled below (4 for the top frame, 4 for the boards stack).
3. At this point you should be able to remove the top frame (the one holding the camera and antenna), as well as being able to gently lift the board stack. BE CAREFUL not to pull the motor wires, which are soldered to the board. Remove the ESC board’s feet (circled in red) by turning them counter clock-wise.
4) The ESC board can now be separated from the flight controller board. The boot pin is the one highlighted in red. Short it using a pair of tweezers or some other conductive material, then plug your drone to the computer via USB. If the buzzer emits a steady beep (instead of an intermittent beep), you’re good to go. You can now flash a new firmware using the Betaflight app.
