Why Weekends Don’t Feel The Same Anymore (In a Good Way)

March 8th, 2015

I’ve been unconsciously experiencing this feeling for a while now, but I haven’t had time to put it into words until yesterday. So I wrote a note and promised myself to write a post about this.

When we’re caught in the cycles of society, we live for the weekend. When it’s Tuesday morning and a huge pile of work stares us in the face, we zoom out and wish it was already Saturday. Then when it’s Sunday night, we wish that we didn’t have to wake up on Monday. We spend 5 out of 7 days wishing that it was another day.

When you are traveling, managing your own work schedule, that cycle tends to disappear; the days start blending together, and the notion of day of the week disappears. We forget it’s the weekend. Every day is a day on its own. No waiting, just lots of living for tomorrow, whichever day that might be.

  1. Hi Piero, I just found your blog because you started following us on Twitter :). First of all, thanks for following! Second, great blog! Very inspirational, as we’re into the digital nomad life as well. Totally recognize the fact weekdays feel like weekends and likewise: every day is just what you make of it. Will be checking in on your site regularly, have a great day!
